Following the great success of our Japanese arts programme at Jesus College—incorporating film, music, and performance—we now turn our attention to Spain, Estonia, Cyprus, and Denmark. On the 6th July, we will screen three animated short films from across Europe, followed by a main feature, in collaboration with Jesus College, Film@Jesus, the EU National Institutes for Culture, the Cyprus High Commission, Embassy of Estonia, and Cultura Instituto Cervantes in London, as well as creative studio Uniko and Bulldog film distribution. The event will be held in the Frankopan Hall, Jesus College.

SENCHA: SALON CULTURE AND THE ART OF INFUSED TEA 4 AUG 2024

In this very special event, sencha master TSUKUDA Shio will give an illustrated talk about the history of sencha and the salon culture—intellectual gatherings originating in the mid-Edo period, that are used primarily to discuss arts and culture—in which sencha played a key role, whilst also demonstrating the exquisite manner in which sencha is prepared and how it can be appreciated in daily life.
