Go Girl: The Black Woman’s Book of Travel and Adventure Partnership

Elaine Lee

Panorama is excited to partner with Elaine Lee, editor of the groundbreaking anthology Go Girl: The Black Woman’s Book of Travel and Adventure (1997), which was recently expanded, revised, and updated. We’ve included an updated reflection from Lee plus two essays reprinted from Go Girl and two from Go Girl 2 that reveal the diversity of the Black women’s travel and the importance of Paris to the Black imaginary. As the first travel book by and for African American women, Go Girl broke crucial ground in travel literature. Fittingly, Lee herself caught the travel bug in Paris, making the Parisian focus deeply personal.
