How Do I Write Without a Mind's Eye?

In this video, I explore how I write with aphantasia. I open by asking viewers to picture a polar bear or a banana. For most people, this comes easily, but for the 2-3% of us with aphantasia, there is no “mind’s eye.” For those with vivid mental imagery, the inability to visualise is almost unimaginable. But for me, it’s everyday life. And as a writer, it raises a fascinating question: how can I write if I can’t see anything in my mind?
