Emerging Writer Fund
Welcome to our labour of love.
We are in love with travel literature, photography, and art. And most of all, we’re in love with the idea of bringing those things to you, wherever you may be in the world.
Panorama: The Journal of Travel, Place, and Nature is a British literary journal magazine hybrid, with a modern focus on travel literature, art, and photography. We’re panoramic. We’re modern storytellers. We’re internationalists. We’re changing the face of travel. And all our online issues are free.
The Emerging Writer Fund provides a small honorarium for those who have never previously been published. Please get in touch if you would like to contribute to the fund.
The first beneficiary of Panorama‘s Emerging Writer Fund is Daniel Zhao. Daniel is a native of Hong Kong who has travelled widely through Europe, North America, and Asia. His next destination is the eastern coast of Africa. He writes in an attempt to unearth the passion, intimacy, authenticity, and unspeakable oneness hidden just below the surface of our habits, routines, and differences. The fund enabled Panorama to publish Daniel’s first work of fiction, Cherry Picking, in Issue 1: Firsts.

In Issue 2: Treasures, Panorama was thrilled to publish Sometimes the Past Lingers by interdisciplinary artist and writer Alex Borgen. Alex is the founder of The Papermaker’s Garden in Chicago, and has produced several conceptual projects about bicycle-travel, landscape, and street art. Alex earned her MFA in Interdisciplinary Book & Paper Arts from Columbia College Chicago. Prior to graduate school, she spent several years in Chile and Argentina, travelling as a street artist and teaching writing workshops.
