Penny Lowery has worked as a stage manager, acupuncturist, counsellor and poet. She now lives in East Devon with her wife - an artist - and their dog. Having written poetry since childhood, and studied with Andy Brown at Exeter University, she now writes only micro-poetry: the short forms haiku, senryu, gembun, haibun and cherita. She has a PhD in age and gender theory from the University of Exeter.
